Easy Artichoke Caponata Recipe

January 20, 2019January 20, 2019Leave a comment

The DC area didn't get blessed with snow this weekend, but is having to baton down the hatches due to extremely blustery gusts of wind and super low temps. Between that and the government shutdown, the motivation to go out and find weekend activities to do is slim to none. That's why our Sunday shaped … Continue reading Easy Artichoke Caponata Recipe

Fried Squash Blossoms

October 6, 2018October 6, 20182 Comments

It sounds a bit pretentious, but when I was studying abroad in Italy, I met up with a distant relative who showed myself and a few friends around the Italian countryside. She showed us the aqueducts, Bocca della Verita, this keyhole that when you peek through it all you see is the most manicured tree … Continue reading Fried Squash Blossoms

Homemade Applesauce

September 21, 2018September 22, 20182 Comments

Last weekend, we ventured out west to Markham, VA, where we visited one of the local orchards and indulged in one of our favorite seasonal activities - apple picking. (Although, truth be told we venture out west in the spring and summer too for other fruits such as berries and peaches.) About an hour drive outside … Continue reading Homemade Applesauce

Weekly Meal Plan Ideas

January 20, 2018January 20, 2018Leave a comment

Diets are fast and fleeting and while some may show instant results, sticking with a plan can be hard. One thing we like to strive to do in our house is to use the Mediterranean "diet". This diet consists of foods that people in countries around the Mediterranean Sea dined on. (I'm currently working on … Continue reading Weekly Meal Plan Ideas

Banana Pudding

I always like to start the new year with a clean and simplified home. While I may not get to "simplify" every aspect of our house, I do try to tackle projects that usually get neglected throughout the year. This time, our pantry was one of those targeted areas. In a frenzy, I organized and … Continue reading Banana Pudding

Chicken Nugget Casserole-Divan

February 21, 2017Leave a comment

Two of my favorite dishes are chicken nugget casserole and chicken divan. Both of these dishes taste like home and are great for leftovers throughout the week. Tonight I set out to make a lighter version of the traditionally heavy breaded chicken nugget casserole, but in turn created a hybrid of two of my favorites. … Continue reading Chicken Nugget Casserole-Divan

Lavender Lemon Martinis

February 18, 20171 Comment

Months ago, I ordered a home decor/hostess themed box from Birchbox. (Yes, they do more than beauty products!) It was filled with amazing goodies to host an event, two of which were a Raspberry Simple Syrup and a Lavender Lemon simple syrup. For a while (longer than I'd like to admit), these adorable bar cart … Continue reading Lavender Lemon Martinis

Virginia Peanut Soup

February 15, 2017February 15, 2017Leave a comment

This past weekend my husband and I ventured out to Middleburg, VA as our Valentine's date. Middleburg is an absolutely LOVELY little Virginia town. We tend to pass through every so often, and every time we do, we find ourselves finding new and interesting things to do and see there. While out there this past … Continue reading Virginia Peanut Soup

Italian Cream

February 15, 2017February 18, 2017Leave a comment

As someone who usually sticks to "safe" adult drinks such as wine and beer, I am at a loss for fancy and unique cocktail recipes to change things up. Sometimes it is nice to have a signature cocktail for an event or gathering. It adds a level of sophistication to you event, and will leave your … Continue reading Italian Cream

One of our absolute FAVORITE go to weeknight meals is Jalfrezi sauce with chicken. This recipe is so easy to follow and makes a delicious dish that can leave you with leftovers - always a win in our house. What you need: -chicken (usually I use two chicken breasts, but tonight I made my life … Continue reading Easy Dinner Recipe – Jalfrezi sauce with Chicken

We’ve been celebrating all week long, mommy-daughter heart manicures was our theme last night. While it was a true test in patience (toddlers are SO wiggly), it was sweet and memorable. If you want to learn how to achieve this mani at home, my latest post details how easy and simple it is. 💕
How is it already February?! While I love this month for a lot of reasons (ie- it’s short, my birthday falls in it, chocolate is in abundance, and it means that spring officially starts next month, etc.), it is also reminding me of all the things I told myself I was going to do at the end of last year, and never did. Until then, it’s a paper heart decorating party per request of Bird, and this color combo to brighten a rainy day 🙌🏼
Saturday vibes; and attempting to channel this Bird’s cool, calm, and collectedness while I continue my three hour wait at the DMV.
Wishing I could curl up here with my fur-dude today, but at least the weekend is in sight. Happy Friday friends! ✨
Simple start to the new year. Maybe it was the extra weekend day or maybe I’m getting back into it, but one of my goals for the year is to get back into a flow of posting and writing. #homestyle #tablescapes #simpledecor #freshnewyear
To be fair, she did offer to pull me around in her sled too...
