As someone who usually sticks to “safe” adult drinks such as wine and beer, I am at a loss for fancy and unique cocktail recipes to change things up. Sometimes it is nice to have a signature cocktail for an event or gathering. It adds a level of sophistication to you event, and will leave your guests oohing and awwing at your creativity and hosting abilities. So in an effort to expand my knowledge of such drinks, we have started to experiment with mixing up cocktails using things we already have in the kitchen.
For Valentine’s Day we were cooking a steak and veggie feast at home. While the steak was marinading, we concocted what we are dubbing as the “Italian Cream”.
What you need:
-Tuaca (citrus/vanilla Italian liqueur)
-cream soda
-Maraschino cherries
-ice
-lemon
Directions:
- Fill your glass with ice.
- Pour one shot of Tuaca over the ice.
- Fill the remaining space in the glass with cream soda.
- Garnish with two maraschino cherries and some fresh lemon zest.
- Cheers! Enjoy!
Simple and easy, this quick cocktail did not disappoint; and was the perfect “sweet” treat before our Valentine’s feast.
